Nilanjana Bhowmick

Nilanjana Bhowmick is the author of Lies Our Mothers Told Us – a work of narrative non-fiction that is a scathing but hopeful commentary on the lives of Indian women told through the real life stories of women from across the country. She is an independent journalist whose articles have appeared in TIME, National Geographic, the New Internationalist Magazine, Washington Post, the Guardian, Business Insider, the Daily Beast and several others. She has contributed poems and short stories to international anthologies and literary magazines. She has won three international awards for her journalistic work on gender and development. She lives in New Delhi.
